Publication Ethics
Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat Bayanika (JPMB) is committed to maintaining academic integrity, scholarly honesty, and publication quality in every published article. This publication ethics statement applies to all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher. Each party is expected to perform their duties professionally, objectively, transparently, and responsibly.
Responsibilities of Authors
Authors are fully responsible for the originality, accuracy, and completeness of the manuscripts submitted to JPMB. Submitted manuscripts must be original works, must not have been previously published, and must not be under review or consideration by another journal, proceeding, or publication outlet.
Authors must ensure that all data, information, documentation, results, and discussions presented in the manuscript are accurate, valid, and accountable. Authors are not allowed to engage in plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, documentation manipulation, duplicate publication, or any other form of academic misconduct.
All sources used in the manuscript must be properly cited and included in the reference list. Authors must include as authors only those who have made significant contributions to the article and must not include individuals who did not contribute to the work. Any potential conflict of interest must be disclosed to the editor.
Responsibilities of Editors
Editors are responsible for managing the editorial process fairly, objectively, confidentially, and professionally. Editors evaluate manuscripts based on their relevance to the journal’s focus and scope, quality of content, clarity of implementation method, scholarly and practical contribution, and compliance with publication ethics.
Editors must not discriminate against authors based on institutional background, religion, ethnicity, gender, nationality, political views, or other personal factors. Editorial decisions must be based on manuscript quality and reviewer assessments.
Editors must maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts under consideration and must not use any information from submitted manuscripts for personal purposes. Editors are also responsible for ensuring that any suspected publication ethics violations are handled seriously, including plagiarism, duplicate publication, conflicts of interest, or data manipulation.
Responsibilities of Reviewers
Reviewers are responsible for providing objective, constructive, confidential, and timely evaluations. Reviewers should assess manuscripts based on academic quality, topic relevance, clarity of the partner’s problem, appropriateness of the implementation method, quality of results and discussion, impact of the activity, and the contribution of the article to the development of community service practices.
Reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts and must not share, use, or discuss manuscript content with others without permission from the editor. Reviewers must avoid personal, discriminatory, or irrelevant comments.
If reviewers have a conflict of interest with the authors, authors’ institutions, activity partners, or manuscript content, they must decline the review assignment or inform the editor. Reviewers are also encouraged to notify the editor if they identify any indication of plagiarism, duplicate publication, data errors, or other ethical violations.
Responsibilities of the Publisher
The publisher is responsible for supporting the journal publication process professionally, transparently, and in accordance with scholarly publication ethics. The publisher must not interfere with editorial decisions that are based on academic considerations by editors and reviewers.
The publisher supports journal management that is free from unethical publication practices, including plagiarism, manipulation of the review process, undisclosed conflicts of interest, and misuse of manuscript information. The publisher is also committed to maintaining long-term access to published articles through the electronic journal system and available archiving mechanisms.
Plagiarism and Originality
Every manuscript submitted to JPMB must be free from plagiarism. Authors must ensure that all quotations, paraphrases, data, figures, tables, and information from other sources are properly cited. If plagiarism or duplicate publication is suspected, the editor has the right to request clarification, require revision, reject the manuscript, or take other actions in accordance with journal policy.
Conflicts of Interest
All parties involved in the publication process must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may affect the objectivity of the editorial, review, or publication process. Conflicts of interest may include personal, academic, institutional, financial, professional, or other relevant relationships.
Corrections and Retractions
If substantial errors, ethical violations, or other serious issues are identified after publication, JPMB may issue a correction, clarification statement, or article retraction depending on the nature and severity of the issue. Such decisions are made based on editorial considerations and journal policy.
