Abstract

The rapid development of mobile communication technology requires enhanced competencies in the telecommunications sector, particularly within vocational education. However, vocational high school students generally have limited practical experience in understanding mobile communication network planning. This community service program aimed to improve students’ knowledge and understanding of the fundamental concepts and stages of mobile communication network planning. The activity was conducted at SMK Telkom Bandung on May 20, 2026, involving approximately 70 students. The program consisted of lectures, learning modules, network planning practice and simulation, and direct mentoring. Evaluation was carried out through a feedback questionnaire completed by participants after the activity. The results showed highly positive responses from the participants. A total of 71.8% of respondents strongly agreed that the program achieved its objectives, while 89.7% strongly agreed with the quality of assistance provided by the implementation team. The activity successfully provided a more practical learning experience and improved students’ understanding of mobile communication network planning. Similar programs have the potential to be implemented continuously to support the development of student competencies in telecommunications.
