Author Guidelines

Authors who submit manuscripts to Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat Bayanika (JPMB) must ensure that their manuscripts are relevant to the focus and scope of the journal. The manuscript must be based on community service activities and should include the background of the partner’s problem, the objective of the activity, the implementation method, the results, the impact on the partner or target community, and the follow-up or sustainability of the program.

Authors are required to use the official JPMB manuscript template in Microsoft Word format. Download the Template here. In general, the manuscript should include the title, authors’ names and affiliations, abstract, keywords, introduction, implementation method, results and discussion, conclusion, acknowledgements if necessary, and references.

The title should be concise, clear, informative, and reflect the substance of the community service activity. The abstract should be written in a single paragraph of 150–250 words and should include the background of the problem, the objective of the activity, the implementation method, the participants or target beneficiaries, the main results, and the impact or contribution of the activity to the community.

The introduction should explain the general condition of the target community or partner, the main problems faced by the partner, the gap between the ideal and actual conditions, the urgency of the community service activity, the relevant theoretical background or brief references, the objective of the activity, and the expected benefits.

The implementation method should describe the location and target of the activity, the partner’s name, the number of participants, participant characteristics, implementation time, activity stages, methods, evaluation instruments, and data analysis techniques. The activity stages may include observation and needs identification, program planning, preparation of training materials or media, implementation, mentoring, and evaluation.

The results and discussion section should explain the implementation of the activity, evaluation results, impact on the partner, discussion of the results, and program follow-up. Authors should not merely present activity documentation, but should also explain the achievements, changes, benefits, and contributions of the activity based on relevant data or evidence.

The conclusion should address the objective of the activity and should not simply repeat the abstract. It should include a brief summary of the activity, the main results, the impact on participants or partners, the implications or benefits of the activity, and recommendations for program sustainability.

References must be written using the IEEE citation style. Authors are encouraged to use at least 10 relevant references, with priority given to sources published within the last five years. References may include journal articles, conference proceedings, academic books, regulations, official reports, standards, or other credible and relevant sources.

The manuscript must be free from plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, duplicate publication, and other forms of publication ethics violations. Authors are fully responsible for the originality of the manuscript, the accuracy of the data, the completeness of citations, and the statement of author contributions.

Submitted manuscripts must not have been previously published and must not be under consideration by another journal or publication outlet. All authors must approve the submission to JPMB and agree to follow the editorial process, including revisions based on comments from editors and reviewers.
